The Roses and Thorns of Life

Think about this………where in your life, other than your home, have you revealed your heart the most………..

Hospital?…..Funeral Parlor?

Think………..for me, it was the vet’s office.   Holding the head of someone I loved with all my heart as they exhaled final breath has been the place where all my force fields have vanished.   My heart was open for viewing.

In hospitals, we guard our emotions……in funeral homes as well……there is such a cornucopia of emotional interactions between family that I think we keep that force field up, even if it falters a bit.  We do our crying in the car, of when we shut the door back at home, when the worry and stress give way to the emptiness of mourning.

But in the vets, we cry.   We cry without thought of who is watching, how our eyes are swollen,  how the people in the next room…
